Holiday Rotation

Can anyone give me insight into how hospital based NPs schedule or rotate their schedules on major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years)??

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Much depends on where you work and in what specialty. I work in a large nephrology practice with a total of 7 mid-levels: 3 PAs, 3 FNPs and me (CNS). We just rotate the holidays. However, the way it goes is that you work the weekend around the holiday too. For instance, this year, I have the dreaded Thanksgiving holiday which means I work Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun - all at hospitals 55 miles away....and believe me this holiday is busy!
