HITPRO exams

Hi all, I am in my waiting list to get into nursing clinicals, and I ran across this free paid state training that many community colleges are offering. There are 6 different types of exams you can take, but the one I took/passed was the HITPRO Implementation Manager exam. I am curious if any of you have heard of this and also feel it would be of help for a student that is wanting to eventually go into Nursing Informatics.

I have not heard about this, will look into this now. Thanks for the info.

I have heard of the Office of National Coordinator Health Information Technology Programs. I personally think it would be helpful especially since you took and passed the HIT PRO certification. If you successfully complete your nursing courses and the boards, you could conceivably become a superuser if nothing else. I always think a little extra knowledge never hurts. I had been hearing talk where a good number of these graduates were not able to find jobs especially the ones who have no clinical credentials. A good number of students drop out because the classes become overwhelming (some of the schools were not that organized with the material as I understand it). The question becomes with programs like this, do you feel that you could hit the ground running as the employer would expect you to? This is true especially if you have no specific training in programs like Epic and the like.
