Hi all

Hi, allnurses.com community. I just recently graduated with a BS in nursing in New York City. I am in my thirties and embarking upon nursing as a second career. I take the boards in a week and I am just about to start the job application process. Can anyone recommend hospitals in Manhattan that offer a good nursing experience in pediatrics or L&D?

Thanks.

Hello

I am not a pediatric or L&D person but I did my maternity clinical at Mount Sinai and I had a wonderful experience there. As for pediatric, I did my clinical at Harlem Hospital and didn't like it there at all. My classmates did their pediatric clinical at NYP and they love it.

Hope this is helpful! Good luck with your job hunting!!!

I spent 2 months during intergration on Cornell's post-partum floor, I really liked it there. I've heard Roosevelts L&D is excellent, they also have a birthing center you could move to once you have some experience and if that interests you. My friend was offered $70k/yr there as a new grad on nights.

Welcome!
