hi everybody

I have soo many questions that i hope you wil answer

:chuckle :balloons: :p

I am an african male who moved here 5 years ago .I 'm a senior at njit Biomedical engineering) but find out that there is anything (no jobs) for us.So writing to find out what is the quickest way to have adegree in nursing. Also if there is any scholarship available.

BYE hope to receive a lot of mails from you

I think the easiest thing for you to do, is to go to a school that you can enter an accelerated nursing program. That way you will be able to graduate from a nursing school in about 1.5-2 years. because you would go year around. It could be shorter than that but i am not particulary sure. Many times there are also scholarships available once admitted to the program.

do u mean an associate programm or a bsn programm

ONCE AGAIN THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE

An accelerated BSN program is for people who already have their Bachelor's degrees (like yourself). The only 2 schools in NJ that offer this type of program are Fairleigh and Seton Hall and they are really expensive. You would get the degree in 13 months straight thru. If you went to a county college you would receive an associate's degree in 2 years depending on what pre-reqs you already have. There are also diploma schools such as Mountainside that you could look into. I don't know much about them. Just a little advice... yes there are a lot of jobs in nursing but it is not a career for everyone. Make sure you are doing it for the right reasons. It is a lot of work! Hope this helps.

Welcome to allnurses

UMDNJ also has an accelerated BSN program for people with a non-nursing BS degree. It is a lot cheaper than the other private schools. Also, Rutgers may have an accelerated BSN too, but I am not sure of that. Check out their websites.
