HH pay

In SE Michigan the revisit (regular visit) rate is $50.00

I have done hospital med/surg and icu nursing for almost 6 years and am considering home health now. I am considering prn to try it out before quitting my current hospital job. I am being offered the following pay: on call during week is $25/day; on call during weekend is $50/day; for prn, pay is done on a per-visit basis and an admission is $85; a resump is $70; a recert is $55; a regular visit is $35. I get 38cents per mile reimbursement. I have flexibility to work one day or 7 days; I decide. Does this sound like a good home health pay? I will likely drive 45 minutes to get to an area and then see more than one patient in that same area that day.

I think it depends on where you live. I live in TN. And, on average for many HH agencies in our area, any OASIS (admissions, resumptions, recerts) is $65, and then any regular visit is $35. Our on call pay is $15/day and we get 33 cents a mile. But then again, my agency does not pay per visit unless you are prn. All of our RNs are salary and we are kept on a "points per visit" productivity and we don't have to work weekends unless our weekend nurse is off, so I can't say for the weekend pay if that is worth it. The cost of living in Tennessee is lower than many places as well.

What you describe is good pay for homecare. I am in Wi.

I also live in Wisconsin and the rate is pretty comparable to my company. Make sure you make it clear that you would like to have your patients all in one area, otherwise your driving all day and not productive.

I'm per diem in South Florida and my agency pays: $75 for SOC, $65 for Resume of Care/Recert/Discharge OASIS, and $40 for regular visits.

The per diem pay structure does not include payment for any mileage, but we do get paid an office rate of $20/hour for any time spent at the office for staff meetings, or when going in to finish paperwork, pick up supplies and confer with the clinical managers.

I'd definitely try to group your patients in one geographic location. Not getting paid mileage, it's not even worthwhile for me to take regular patient visits that are a long distance away--especially with our traffic. It could take 2+ hours for just one visit and it limits the other visits you can do in one day.
