I'm trying to find out the difference in the NET and the HESI?? Has anyone taken the HESI?? I do not know anything about this test....I've taken the NET and it covered reading comp and math only. Is that like the HESI? Anybody that had taken the test please respond!!!! I'm going to have to take the HESI now for another school that I've applied to and I'm looking for a heads up. :)

I havent taken the HESI yet I dont have to take it until after 2nd semester and after 4th semester but I have heard it is similar to the NCLEX. I have heard to get a NCLEX review book and study that they also have HESI study guides as well maybe buy one of those or see if the library has one and check that out.

I took the HESI exam in spring of 2004, it is a graduate exam used by bachelor's programs. It is a comprehensive test that covers primarily Adult nursing, pediatric nursing, Obstetrics/ women's health, community nursing (educating the public), and math in nursing.
The best way to study for this exam is to buy a book or CD with lots of questions in these areas and focus on your weakest areas by doing some questions weekly. You can purchase a review book at http://www.hesitest.com (the site has been altered for Hurricane Rita info, hopefully it will return to its normal option menu so you can purchase a book)
My girlfriend at the time had a book call "NCLEX Made Icredibly easy", which was the best resource I found. good luck.

Hi tejaspring2006,
I think there are two HESI exams that you potentially have to take.
One is the A2 admission assessment exam like the NET that tests you on math, vocabulary, reading comprehension and grammar. Depending on the school you go to you may also have to take the Chemisty or A&P section.
The other is the E2 that is an exit exam that you take towards the end of nursing school. I believe it's supposed to be a good indicator on how you'll do on the NCLEX.
I haven't taken it yet. I plan on taking it in Feb. but I'm looking for a study guide. Hope that helps.

I had to take HESI at the beginning of NS and after 2nd semester, and and the end of 4th semester. It's alright. The pp is right. The 1st one was math, a&p, reading, etc.
The 2nd one was nursing stuff. It was just used to evaulate how we were doing. I have found both of them to be pretty easy. Last semester one is supposed to be the same way-all nursing stuff. The goal I think is a score of 850.

I took the Hesi 2 years ago when I was in nursing school, my only advice would be to by the Hesi study guide and study from that. Several people I went to school with only studied NCLEX books and failed. IMO the HESI was more patho knowledge based, and NCLEX was more clinical. Good luck! :wink2:
