Just wanted to let everyone know that I passed the HESI. Thanks for all your help. Now I need some advice on how to prepare for the NCLEX. I'm taking it hopefully within the next 2 weeks, still waiting on my ATT.:)

Congrats! I just posted a topic about HESI in the student forums. We have to pass with a 900 or do not get our seating card. I cant seem to do very well on it, and I have always been an A-B student. I have the latest book, and the Saunders, and I have started Suzannes first tip. Any advice on the HESI?

Practice higher level questions, like prioritization in LaCharity book. I felt like it was assumed that you know the nclex prep books, but applying it is the test style. There are some easy ones but my test was more select all that apply and prioritization. I, personally, had lots of broad med surg questions and a lot of endocrine, etc. No OB but some people get that so you just have to know the broad material. The material is the material but you need to know more and more details of it for the select all that apply.
People in Ohio are waiting a good month for ATT's, after their names are posted on the public record. They are majorly backed up it seems.
Hey jeepdude,
I read the HESI book along with the Saunders book. I also did practice questions from the CD. You will do fine, just study and do lots of practice questions.

Here's what got me a consistent 99.99f% on the HESI, the nclex 3500. For maternity, use reviews and rationales as well for content review. Truth be told i didn't review content. i did the maternity questions on the nclex 3500 CD in june and i never touched on maternity again. We had to take lots of Hesis and the nclex 3500 was my go to all the time. i pratically stuck to two study aids for questions and used reviews and rationales for content review. i think saunders has good content on peds.
Before i took the nclex, i read that the hesi was different. Well, there were times i didnt' study for the Hesi and used test taking strategies to breeze through it and those were the same i used for questions on the nclex i didn't know. On the other hand, i know someone who's been trying to pass the HESI for my school since last june, finally pass this june after countless attempts and she failed the nclex at 75 questions. She said she was anxious, go figure!
