Help! Why am I not getting an interview or hired?

I've been putting applications in since last year and have gotten a lot of emails of rejection. I currently work at a hospital and spoke to HR about my applications, she forward them to the managers. I just recently finished my CNA course and will be taking the state exam next month. I have 2 years of nursing home experience and 9 months as a hospital housekeeping. I've had my CPR since April. So I'm wondering why haven't I gotten an interview yet. I referred my coworker to talk to HR about the same position I was applying for this month and within weeks she got hired. But I haven't heard anything from HR or any managers. It's making me want to give up. I'm not sure what else to do. I'm wondering if it's because I'm going to school for nursing and the hospital has a nursing program I'm trying to get into.

I think it's most likely that you do not have CNA certification. I think once you pass your state certification it will be easier to find a job in acute care.

Sorry for the late response. You were correct. After passing the CNA state exam last month, a month later I got offered a position on the ICU floor.
