HELP

I also have a criminal background 2001, I was married to a very abusive person that sexually assaulted me and his 2 children documented by the Major Crime Squad of the state of Ct.

At the time of the arrest which was applying for heat (oil) to stay warm and not freeze I had snuck out of the house applied and rec it. My abusive husband was in control of all of the money although it was joint income. I applied out of the shear fact of survival or my children and I would have froze to death.

I was arrested for welfare fraud. 1200. of fuel oil to survive. Since this I have gone through LPN training, and want to sit for the boards. In the state of New york this must be expunged. The Judge states and on his letter head that I a person that suffers with PTSD could have never known what I was pleading to and is vacating the conviction.

I am scared to death to even apply for the Boards. What do I do? what documents does the Nursing Board need. I have the court the Judge stating Vacate should I also send the Major Crime Report to the Boards. Since 2001 I have divorced the husband and raised two beautiful damaged children. One is graduating with her BA in criminal justice at the age of 19. And my son is an operating engineer for the union in the state of Rhode Island.

Someone please send me a positive note that not to be afraid and just do it. I have volunteered for women in DV IE advocated for rape victims in the ER while being interrogated . I have Volunteered in the court system for persons with PTSD women that are divorcing an abusive person. Nursing is my life and need to sit for the Boards.

Send some positive energy and hope that I can accomplish this.

Apply, no journey is finished with out the first step.......I was scared to death too.

Who knows, they may give you a big green light.

I have waited since June 2013 for licensure, from "old Stuff", it's been a long frustrations wait,

but almost finished.

What really boosted my confidence, and gave me some hope was when I was interviewing attorneys to represent me.

May told me it was possible, it would just take time.

Consider era representation, as Attys in your state that specialize in this area know all the ins and outs, and the way around the BRN.

Good Luck.

Sorry that you are going through this. Get a good license defense attorney who will fight for you and represent you if needed.

Thank you all for your support, I called the Nursing Board and they said I can sit for the NCLEX. I have sent all documents (legal) regarding the issue. Just ya all pray for me I am lucky to be alive and free. All I can say is THY WILL BE DONE...

Back to the books...........

God Bless all the Brave Nurses
