help!

hi guys, im looking to find a good school to start my nursing education, and need some help! I'm moving to chino hills in a month, so I would like to find a school around the area. Unfortunately I didn't get the best grades in highschool, so the whole 4 year University thing is kind of out of reach. Are there any good trade schools any one has been to or knows of? I know they are rather pricey though.. I'm eager to get the ball rolling, I just need some good advice as where to start!:D Thanks!!!

I'm sure California has a bunch of community colleges (jucos) that offer RN, CNA, or other associates degree Nursing degrees. You could start there and then do a RN-BSN program. Based on everything i've seen on this site and researching online, that seems to be a cost-effective method.

If you post this to your local state's forum, you might get more replies. Just a suggestion :)

Good luck!

Have you started on your prereqs yet? I think you should reconsider applying at the university level because some programs only look at your college courses, and most importantly your prereqs i.e. CSU-San Bernardino,CSU-Fullerton. The only CCs that I can come up with off the top of my head close to Chino Hills are Mt. SAC (http://www.mtsac.edu/instruction/technology/nursing/) & RCC (http://www.rcc.edu/academicPrograms/nursing/). There are probably more near your locale, but you should definitely take a gander at the CA BRN's website to find other programs as well (http://www.rn.ca.gov/schools/rnprograms.shtml). Because of the competitive nature of nursing program admissions, I would apply to as many programs as I could possibly can. Good luck!
