Help! Retaking Questions

once you've registered and sent in all the fingerprints and paperwork you do not have to repeat this process again. godforbid if you do fail the exam, there will be a packet sent to you by the california state board of nursing as to how to re-apply for the exam. i beleive there's only 2 sheets you have to fill out. california registered test takers have a 45 day wait period before they can sit again for the exam. also indefinite number of takes. meaning you can sit for the exam as many times as you like.

i am taking my nclex soon. i am from the philippines. i am hoping and praying that i will pass the test. i am doing my part to beat nclex. i know i can do it...we can all do it! i don't want to have negative vibes about it but i just wanna ask all of you important questions about retaking the exam. i just wanna have a contingency plan if ever i don't make it. i went a lot of stuff just by processing my application for california-nclex. it was very tiring. i just wanna be ready ahead if ever i will not make it.

question number 1: if i fail do i have to undergo again everything? i mean all the "fingerprint card" processing stuff? as you all know filipinos taking nclex uses the hard card for applying. and do i have to process my school requirements again? how long i will wait for ca-bon to grant me a retake?

question number 2: when can i take again if say my failed result comes in mid-october 2008. i dont understand the "3-month" provision of nclex. enlighten me please.

question number 3: ( i know i'm supposed to look for this in threads! please excuse me.) if i fail i really wanna use " suzanne's plan". where can i start here if my failed result come in mid-october? how can i avail of this?

the thread for the first tip of my program can be found as a sticky posted here in this same area. all of the instructions are listed in it and need to be followed exactly as written.

this is an update to help some of you out with questions that i see posted over and over again.

hope that it helps and best of luck to you.

1. first tip is only the review that needs to be completed before i can assist anyone after that. it is only the review and is not my program so should not be considered as same. but it needs to be completed first.

there is no mention anywhere in it of using the rationales with the first tip, if it is not listed; then it does not need to be done. follow the instructions exactly as written.

2. i require that one uses the format that is given in that first thread when contacting me. that includes your name as well as test date in the subject line; and the other information included that is asked for. without that being provided to me, unable to add you to my list.

3. you need 15 posts to contact me using the pm system that we have here, you can easily complete the first tip while you are getting relevant posts made. there is no reason to have the 15 posts before starting the first tip that is posted.

4.. mailings are done only every two weeks, and as group mailings. they are never done on an individual basis. your e-mail box must be able to accept a mailing from me, if it does not; then that is something that you need to fix.

5. mailings are usually done around the first of every month as well as the 15th. it can vary depending on my work schedule. mailings are also never sent out more than two months before the test date. and one should never be preparing up until the day of the exam, so always allow three days extra for the first-time testers and four days to be added for the repeat testers. that means for a mailing on the first, the cut-off date is the 18th of the following month for first testers and the 19th for repeaters.

same situation would apply if qualifying for the mailing on the 15th.

6. i do not respond to every pm that i receive with a request for my program. if you make my list, then you are added and will have to wait for the mailing. if i respond to the pm,, then it means that there was an issue with something. but it takes precious time that i do not have to respond back and forth trying to get the information that is requested in the first tip to begin with. and i am no longer going to be able to do that. i will ask once for something, if i do not get what i am asking for, then i will not be able to do anything to help you. i do this as a volunteer, so things need to be easy for my to get done.

7. please do not request others to share my program with you; or to discuss anything about the program that is sent out on-line. i require that all requests must come directly from me. and to do so will violate my trust.

8. the program works for the rn exam as well as the pn exam, you just need the one appropriate book that is asked for in the thread with the first tip.

9. the first tip that is posted also works quite well in helping someone pass the exit hesi.

10. you should be using the 3rd edition for the pn exam and the 4th edition for the rn exam. you always want to be using the latest version as these contain the new format questions. makes no sense to prepare with old material.

LV DREAMER and SILVERDRAGON Thank you so much for the info! you gave me a big sigh of relief knowing now that I don't have to go through again the process of fingerprinting if I fail the exam. 'Cuz You know the processing here in the Philippines is quite hard. I live in the south and the fingerprinting process is in Manila which is way up north. I need a plane ride to get there. It's so expensive to process the whole thing. Thanks for the info about "suzannes plan". Thank you. You made my day.
