Hi all! I just wanna ask about working full time as an lpn. The facilty I got hired says that full time is 5 days, 8hr shifts, basically 37.5 hrs with alternating weekends. I didn't understand about the weekends does that mean I work 5 days one week and 7 days the next? I know I sound dumb rn please don't make fun of me that's why I didn't ask this at the interview. Can someone explain?

Unless they have some weird method for scheduling, you'll still be scheduled for 10 days during a payroll period (5 days per week). When you work in the weekends, that means you'll have one day off each week for having scheduled in a Saturday or a Sunday.
It all has to do with Labor laws re overtime pay 'in excess of 40 hours'. It also allows staff to work in short intervals blocks. Just know that the facility will make sure whatever they do is legal with all the laws. So they're usually always RIGHT and you're mistaken!
Works like the 12 hours shift gig - days on in a block, then days off in a block.
Some places ARE exceptions to the general average schedule. So you will need to touch base with whomever does staffing schedules for your place. And always remember them as your FRIEND.
I preferred the 8 hours instead of the 12s. Once you get in a groove, you'll learn which days are safe to make MD appointments, take your car for inspection, service the air conditioners, etc.
