Hi
I currently have my BA in Business with a minor in HR. After being downsized from Verizon I decided to do a career change into the medical field. The plan initially was for me to open my own Assisted Living Facility and I decided to take some CNA and GNA courses (bad move) and then I become a Nurse Tech/Patent Care Tech. I soon realized that I had made a bad move and I do not like direct care that involves diapers almost other things. Throughout this journey I grew a love for fitness and started doing Personal Training. After meeting people alone the way I soon came to realize that PHYSICAL THERAPY is I want to be. My question to anyone out there is, now with a BA in Business and CNA, GNA, Patient Tech under my belt, should I become a Physical Therapist Tech/Aide, to Physical Therapy Assistant to maybe even Physical Therapy or should I jump right in to being a Physical Therapy Assistant or Physical Therapist? I just do not want to keep wasting time and want the shortest journey to being in Physical Therapy. HELP!

just go for physical therapist assistant. two years at a community college and you graduate with little to no debt. PTA's don't actually make that much less than PTs in most markets. In my city PTAs make about 75% the pay of PTs, without the student loan debt.
Hi Ceccia
I appreciate your advice. I did go to a Community College and they were saying that because I need to should some hours worked or volunteered in the Physical Therapy Assistant program, maybe I should do the Aide/Tech of PT course and work that part time doing that for hours and experience while I am in the PTA program. Its starting to getting all confusing because I do not want to take course unnecessary and waste time. Although Aides/Tech do not make much it might be worthwhile to consider doing it that way. What do you think about me going in that direction with it?
