Help Me

I need some tips! First of all, im new to this site, but it looked interesting, so i thought i would give it a try. I am a college freshman in Florida, and currently a cashier. However, i am trying to get a clerical job in a hospital/doctors office just to get my foot in the door. I don't start nursing school for another year, but i would really like to start a medical career, even if it is as clerical. I am just not sure if this is the best way to get started, so any suggestions would be so helpful. thanks in advance!!!!

I started in Outpatient Billing. I was able to take a Medical Terminology Course offered by the hospital. Yes, indeed, this was an excellent way to get into a medical career. I started an LPN progrem, but was newly pregnant and had a hard time, so I dropped out. I then worked as a unit secretary on different floors in the hospital. After bearing 3 children, I attended an ADN program. I always wanted to be a nurse, but I took a little more time to become oriented to the medical field before attempting nursing. I picked up a lot of experience which helped me tremendously in the nursing program. Nursing did not scare me because I was familiar with medicine. The nurses were great with helping me...teaching me things before I entered the nursing profession.

Good luck to you and keep us posted!
