Help for interview

I have an interview coming up for my first teaching position. I'm being asked to prepare a 5-10 minute teaching presentation on the topic/medium of my choice. I currently work as a lactation consultant and teach that content everyday, so I'm very comfortable with it. Of course it doesn't relate to anything I would be teaching as an instructor, but the process is the point, right? Is it appropriate for me to use media and content (that I have created for use at my job or been a part of creating) for the presentation or should I pick another topic and start from scratch?

Hi,

I would suggest that you go with what you know best for this presentation. I would suggest that you incorporate information to the student related to how they could teach clients about lactation or what the students need to incorporate into lactation. Most of all, make it toward the type of student/group you will be teaching.

Use of media and content that you have created is fine, just make sure that you reference it. I would suggest, since it is only 5-10 minutes that you really do something that you are presenting and not for the students to watch. Have students be active, even if for one minute. You may want to include additional information as a take away to the students.

I wish you all the best in your interview.
