Your patient has a peripheral IV in his left hand. The solution is 0.9% normal saline solution. The IV rate is 75ml per hour.

This is an IV in the left hand with normal saline infusing at 75 ml/hr.

I think this means to assess the IV site and check the IV fluid for the proper fluid and rate.

Check site, check solution, check rate. Inform pt to inform nurse of stinging or swelling at IV site.

I think it's called homework. ;)
