Do not try and study too much material. My recommendation is to do questions and learn strategies to tackle the NCLEX. You must know how to discriminate between what the question is asking. If you go through questions and have a topic you are unfamiliar with - study or read up in MedSurg book and learn the topic. Know labs and practice dose calculations. Study medications and it is essential an RN knows what tasks to delegate to subordinate personnel in the hospital setting.

I suggest you find a reference and write out an outline of the topics that you want to study and give yourself dates to cover each area. Start with the areas that you feel weak on. Definitely have a section on dosage calculations and make certain that you have that mastered. Also consider using Suzanne's plan with the Saunder's review text. Many people have passed using her plan. You will see that by using her plan you have some structure to your preparation time. Good luck.

I recommend not to study too much material, make an outline of different topics, study dosage calculations, know your lab values, know you medications, know your types of diets, and last but now least look back in your med-surg book and look over the diseases and disorders. Study at least 2 hours a day, and go over 200 questions a day, get a Saunders n-clex review book or even some Saunders flashcards at Borders Bookstore. Good luck, you can do it.:yeah:
