Help! I need an understanding..

I am a Nigerian Registered Nurse and a Registered Psychiatry/Mental health Nursing. The issue is since i graduated 2010, i have been working in a cardiac hospital with good salary scale and time to travel, but now there is a chance of employment into a federal psychiatric hospital coming up in 2months. I will get a permanent resident card from the US embassy in February but i plan to fully relocate in Jan 2013. So my question: is it important i work in psychiatric hospital to boost my chances of getting a Job in US (California)? or it doesnt matter since i still have to write all the necessary international exams?. Thanks all replies will be appreciated.

If that is your passion then go for it. Is the position temporary? If you know for sure that you will be coming to the US this February then it may not be good to start the position. Good Luck
