help with CA distance learning

Hi. I'm an active duty mom of 2 in california. I despratley want to be an RN. With my military commitment the only way for me to do it would be online. I've read that CA does not accept Excelsor grads, But has anyone done the distance learning at ISU? Ca accepts this?

any helpful info you can share with me would be greatly apprecited!

If you do some research on the CA BRN website you will find that the ISU LVN to BSN program is accepted. It has been going for some time now in the Sacramento area. The bad aspect of this program is that the individual is forced to arrange for their own preceptor and clinical sites, if not using the sites already available in the Sacramento area. According to some who have dealt with the school, the school does not assist the student in this requirement. There are a couple of major threads about ISU and several posts elsewhere here, if you want to read about people's experiences with this program.

If you have a degree and at least a CNA certificate and live in the southern CA area, you might want to consider the prelicensure program that WGU is starting. They have at least five hospitals set up for clinical sites and the cost is reasonable, only $4250 for six months. Check out the website at http://www.wgu.edu.
