Help with the Ca-BON

Hello,

My friend was a previous nursing student back in 2015. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she was not able to take the boards with her class as she needed to tend to her family during that time.

Fast forward 3 years later, she applied to the CA BON and she received an email stating that she is not eligible to sit for the board at this time and that she needed to take a med surg course again with out any explanation.

She contacted the school that she finished the RN program with and they were also baffled at the response from the board.

I wanted to know if there was a school or course that anyone knows of that could assist my good friend in re-taking this med surg requirement that the BON is requesting.

Any advice of direction is greatly appreciated.

    Hi meanmaryjean,

    Yes, she went to a small private school here in Los Angeles. Do you happen to know why they would ask such a request? She is feeling lost and doesn't know how to move forward. I just want to help her out and see if there is hope. I have searched for schools that offer just a med surg course, but have had no luck. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
