Help with application process?

I am in the process of getting my ducks in a row for next year. I am applying to several nursing schools :yeah:. I am not really sure how this works though and I was hoping to get some input. I applied to GSU (Georgia State University) last week and I am in the process of sending them my transcripts.

My question is: I don't want to start there this fall so do I need to defer or what? I am only applying to the school b/c I have to be accepted to the school before I can apply to the nursing program (which has to be applied to NOW for NEXT FALL). I am sorry if this is confusing :jester:. The application did not have a place for me to put on there what semester I intended to enroll- that would have solved this problem!
