Jul 23, 201510 yr D. If you have bleeding, suction isn't going to control bleeding. Logically, I can't even see how sucking on something bleeding could possibly stop it. You know what's going to control bleeding? Your friendly neighborhood EGD w/ banding if pt has varices or a solid PPI w/ ulcers.
