Hello!

Hi all

I'm new onto this forum so just wanted to say hello. I am thinking about starting my nursing degree next year, so really just looking for some advice and how you all find your jobs - if you like it, what you do etc etc.

Thanks

Hi and :groupwelcome:

I wouldn't worry about jobs yet - you're a way off that yet & things will change! I got my current job from the nursing Times - yeah I know there's a thread rubbishing it at the moment but there you go!:lol2:

Previous to that I applied where I did my return to nursing course. Earlier jobs came from a personal recommendation and from applying where I did my training - us "oldies" had the convenience of training at one hospital - where the vast majority of us got jobs once we qualified - it was kind of expected then!

I do love nursing but it is hard work; rewarding at times, frustrating at other times!

Good luck to you!

hello there!!!

i'm in the last year of nursing now, boy it went fast! most people o my course still don't know where they want to end up or where they plan on going with their qualification.

one thing i will say is nursing is so much broader and soo much bigger than I'd ever have thought in terms of roles and job areas. I picked adult as i'd not experience so figured i'd keep my qualification quite general.

I have a love hate relationship with the course, as most uni students do..but its mostly love. I'd never do anything else in the world but nursing :balloons:
