Hello!

Hello everyone! I am new to this so I'm just figuring out how to use this site. I really need advice and I hope you guys can help me out. I was accepted into an RN program for this fall and I was very excited. I used to have a problem with needles and fainting but thought I had overcome it. Then 3 weeks ago I donated blood and fainted when I was almost done. Does this mean I shouldn't be a nurse? Can people overcome things like this? Thank you.

I think that you will be surprised to find that doing something in the capacity of helping a pt. seems to override those phobias, fears, vomit-reflexes, etc. Some of the things that we do in clinical completely gross me out if I watch them on TV:)

Good luck!
