Have you overcome your driving issues yet? If not, employment options are limited. Was the driving the reason for the loss of employment? If it played a role, I'd suggest you get a grip on that first and foremost.

One of your other posts indicates that you were newly licensed 7 or 8 months ago. Since you don't have longevity as a nurse, I would be painfully honest about what's going on. You just need a second chance. I once heard a BSN say that ALL nurses make a med error at some point (the audience goes quiet!) A lot of nursing homes are so desperate for coverage on the floor, that they lighten-up a little bit and accept all kinds of nurses.

Have you burned a bridge behind you or can the new employer contact the old employer? "BSNbeDONE" has a point... has your issue been cleared-up? Is everything ok with the board?
