I graduated in may of 2005 in the Practical Nursing Program. I did take my boards and did not pass. My life took a different direction and left the field for 8 years. I recently started back in the nursing field. I have gotten my CNA license and want to get my LPN license. What I need to figure out is can I study and get ready for the NCLEX test on my own or do I have to go back to school. I don't want to retake my 3 years of schooling. Can I just take a refresher course and do that and study on my own then go and take the boards?? I'm lost and don't know where to go. I live in the state of MINNESOTA.

Check with your BON because every state is different. Some states make you check a refresher course after a certain amount of time after graduating a program and some states dont.
