Head to toe

Hello,

Not sure if this is the best section to post my question. I was abused as a child and have issues with being touched/viewed when I am undressed. I am going to be getting a cosmetic surgery in a month and it will require overnight observation in a hospital. I've never been hospitalized. I am a nursing student but have zero hospital experience so I felt like this may be a great place to ask my question.

When I get to my room after surgery and my nurse does a head to toe on me, will my genitals be exposed? Can I decline to have my genitals touched or be exposed? This is extremely triggering so no judgement please. My cosmetic surgery isn't on my genitals but I was told in school a head to toe includes assessing the genitals and I was told a head to toe is done on new admits so I would like to know what to expect and if I can decline that part. I will not have a catheter- will be removed prior to leaving the OR.
