I emailed the alabama state board of nursing concerning taking the state board exam for rn after completing RUE. The response was NO. Has anyone else had this problem. Is there a solution to this problem

Yes, there are several states that no longer accept that program.
We tell everyone that they should check with their Board of Nursing before beginning a program of this type.
The BON can accept or not accept any programs, it is their choice.
The only solution is to go to another state where it is accepted.

Lucretia,
Rue and Excel are nothing more than publishing companies that will provide the study materials, at a cost, for you to study for and pass the exams that Excelsior College requires for their nursing degrees. You might want to ask your state board of nursing if they allow graduates of Excelsior College to sit for the NCLEX-RN. I hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll try that
