I am almost a year into my Infection Prevention/Control RN position and I am looking to see what Joint Commission and any other government bodies are requiring for new IPs. I want to make sure to have all of the certificates for classes that I can. My plan is to take my CIC at the two year mark and I may start a Master's program for Nursing Administration and then go back for the Infection Prevention classes at American Sentinel.
I just want to make sure that my portfolio is well rounded. I have complete NHSN training, FEMA training, APIC EPI 101 and 102 and various small certificates for CDC hand hygiene reviews and such.
Just want to make sure that I am on the right path and looking for guidance to be well rounded and be able to move up in facilities.
