GTC 2011?

Is anyone applying for Gwinnett Tech's Fall 2011 RN program? I submitted my application back in October (I really wanted to have enough time in case anything happened). I'm still waiting on the initial letter about the meeting for the entrance exam. Does anyone know when we're supposed to get that letter? I know the application due date wasn't too long ago (Jan. 15th) and with the snow, things are probably backed up a bit, but for some reason I thought we should already have word by now.

I'm interested in going there for fall of 2012, but wondering if they ever got their accreditation?

So they still aren't accredited for their RN program. I thought they had a class graduating soon???

I'm kinda new on this...but does this mean that graduating RN students will not be able to sit for their boards?

No, they are. If you scroll down, it shows their accreditation.

I know when they brought in their first class of RN's they were not accredited, but they were in the process of it...that was just last year or they year before. I still do not see where their RN program is accredited, I must be missing it on that page, but I see the LPN program - I know that's accredited, but I do not see the RN program at all listed here.

Yeah, that totally wasn't the site I was brought to at first. Sorry.

It says they are in the initial stages. I'm not sure what it means in terms of those who get the degree while they are still in the stages of accreditation. I don't think this could prevent you from being an RN. Maybe has more to do with adding onto the degree in the future? Not sure. I'll have to find out.

No, I don't believe you would be able to take the NCLEX exam if you went to a

non-accredited school. The first class trusted that they would get their accreditation by the time they graduate, and I am sure they will. I don't think a reliable school would've started the program unless they were sure they'd get approved, but as it stands now they are not accredited. I am looking at that school as well, but I'm hoping they'll be accredited by the time I'm ready to apply...I don't plan to apply until they are accredited....I'm sure it'll be fine, it just worries me.

Ok, I contacted the school and they said their accreditation will be completed this summer. Yay! I'm so happy to hear that, but I wish those in the nursing program could let us know how the program is going for them. how are the instructors? Anyone?!!! :)

Hi there. I am currently in the program, set to graduate in May of 2012. We absolutely love our instructors. They love what they are doing and are 100% behind all of us being successful. We have a lot to do and we work hard, but we are also enjoying the program. I was accepted to 3 schools, but chose GTC because of my experience there while taking my prereqs. There has not been one moment that I have had a second thought about my decision. Good luck to all of you.

I am thrilled to hear this!!! GTC is definitely a program I am interested in. There is one more school N GA, but I have been hearing quite a few negative things about it. So I'm a bit worried.

At GTC is it a 3 day a week program? Or 5?

I am glad to hear how great the instructors are!!!

I'd love to hear anything about the program you'd love to share... as I dream about entering in 2012. :)
