Hi! For those who are in graduate school or are studying for the GRE, which study guide(s) did you use in preparation for the GRE? Would you recommend this book to others?
I graduated May 04'. I'm currently a RN on an intermediate surgurical unit. I plan to write the GRE at the end of this year and hope to go back to school for my NP and/or Master's in Fall 2006.
Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I studied from 2 very thin books b/c I'm the kind of person who just wants the essentials (& hate to waste my time). I only studied for a few days & scored well. They list relevant vocabulary words & math formulas, in addition to listing a formulaic approach to the essays. Found them both at Barnes & Noble:
Crash Course for the GRE, 2nd ed, The princeton review
Barron's Pass Key to the GRE Test
I bought a larger GRE study book, but after flipping through it, realized that it didn't contain any more info than the small ones -- it's just filled with more practice problems. I also went to the GRE website for tips, and they send all potential applicants a CD-ROM for practice (never used it).
Thank you for your reply! I will definitely check out those two suggestions. Thx again!

The Educational Testing Service (responsible for the standardized tests, GRE, SAT, etc) have a website where you can do some prep.
www.number2.com
Also, goto google and search "Powerprep and GRE" and download the test program, it is a nice tool as well.
Hope this helps,
Mike
