Grayson 2014 Fall ADN Program

Hi everyone!

I know there have to be some 2014 Fall Applicants out there!!

The lurkers and researchers :)

I'm starting this thread in relation to the upcoming application deadline for Grayson ADN program that starts Fall 2014. I have filled out my application and will be sending it off once I'm able to talk to the nursing department, once the college opens back up so I'll know where to address my application specifically to. I have 27 out of 28 points possible for out of county residents. I'm excieted and eager to see the outcome! I'm not from Denison and do not know much about Grayson College so anyone with information please provide!!!

Good luck to you too! I am planning to take the exam on Feb. 20th but I am ready to get it over with!

Hi everyone, I am too applying for Fall 2014. I am just taking Micro this semester at Collin and this will hopefully be enough since all other pre-reqs are done! I am calculating to apply with 28/30 points if all goes well.

BTW, I am taking the HESI at Grayson on the 27th. What did everybody study with? :nailbiting:

I used a HESI study manual. Pay attention to vocabulary in the manual you buy. Mine was very similar from the test that was in the book.

I called and spoke to CH and asked if she received my application. She confirmed she received it so I'm happy about that!

How is everyone doing! The semester is going to be going by fast after spring break! Have anyone else turned in their application?

I'm surprised there aren't more people talking about the Fall admission....I'm so nervous. I applied with 26 points and based on last falls cutoff--I heard it was 27--I will miss it! I don't live in the Grayson service area so I don't get that 2 point bump plus I made a B in A&P I years ago and never retook it so now it's hurting me. I do have all my BSN prereqs done, have all my immunizations, & BLS CPR but I don't think any of that matters. I will be applying to NCTC as well so I pray I get into one of the programs....I just want to get down the road to getting this done SOOO bad!! I don't have a 'plan B' as of yet if I don't get accepted, what do ya'll think? Apply to an LVN program or work (I have a CNA) retake A&P I for an A and reapply to ADN programs for spring 2015? I figure I would have a semester down the road in an LVN program & could bridge but that's more time too. IDK, I'm just dying to get going towards to finish line, I don't do holding patterns well. Sorry such a long post-

Okay so! :no:I took my entrance exam and only made in the mid 80's which gives me 2 points for that. I received my A in microbiology but I am waiting on my transcript which needs to be turned in by May 31st I believe. As of right now I will be sitting at 25 points! I know this isn't great but I hope I can get in. I also will be applying for Spring 2015. I was thinking about retaking A&P2 for the summer but I doubt I could get an A....

25 points, and knocking on wood and prayers are welcome! :roflmao:

I'm Praying for you girly!!! :) :up::yes:

Anyone heard any rumors yet about what the point cutoff will be? I don't think letters go out until mid June just because they have until May 29 to hand in spring transcripts.

I haven't heard much chatter from anyone but you guys. I wish more people would say something about it. It's driving me crazy!

I tried talking to the secretary when I turned my transcript in. She was not polite when I asked if I might double check that everything was in order in my file, I am sure it is, but have been told by previous students that you should make sure. (I used to work clerical at the hospital and talked to all the nursing students. Some of them claim to have turned in shot records but when they rechecked on it the records were not in the file so they had to re-turn them in.) She told me to come back after May 27 that that was the earliest I could check. I did catch her about to go for a smoke break, so when I go in on Tuesday I will be a little later. I might try to ask about points then. I feel pretty confident I have 29.
