GPA question

Ok so this is the student forum so probably the most appropriate place to ask.

Once I graduate with my ADN will have more undergraduate credits that the degree requires and not all my credits apply to meet the degree requirements. So my question is, is my GPA for my degree based only on those units or on every unit I have done at that school. The grades that are keeping me done are things like history of polka dots etc.

It depends who is calculating it and for what purpose. When you graduate, your school gpa will be everything you've ever taken at that school. If you apply to another school, your cumulative gpa will be everything you've ever taken anywhere, every attempt. Your "nursing gpa" would be just your actual nursing coursework, no other stuff.

When I graduated with my degree I'd been to 2 other colleges and had 2 other majors - my "graduating gpa" had every class I'd taken at that school, and I had a separate gpa in my major.

It would be to apply to BSN and MSN programs in the future. My transcripts are from 5 different schools over a decade. I have excellent grades in all my nursing related courses but failed classes like fashion sketching 2x and finally received a C.

Ah, well when they get all of those transcripts they'll do whatever GPA they're looking for, so it depends on the school. Some use your cumulative which would be everything ever and some only look at your last 60 hours which is pretty straightforward and some only care about your nursing or Prereq classes. My BSN program looks at the cumulative, the science, the the BSN Prereq, and the nursing GPAs. So it's not really straightforward, but basically everything I've ever taken will be accounted for.
