Hello I got charged with a marijuana possession in Travis County and it was dismissed. I was at a concert and it was a one time thing, but it happened so I cannot lie about it. Is this going to ruin my chances of getting accepted into a nursing school if it happened only a year or less prior to sending in the application? It was a Class B misdemeanor.

The best answer to your question is the nursing school(s) that you plan to apply to, as they are the ones who will decide if you should be allowed to attend.
In addition, you will also have to contend with your state BON (by your username, I'm guessing it's Texas) for licensure down the road, so you may want to check with them as well--you can do it anonymously if you prefer. Should you get a nursing school to accept you, the BON does NOT have to automatically accept your record and give you a license--they are free to reject you.
Best of luck.
