Georgia State Spring 2009

Published

I saw that a few people have already applied to the program this year. I applied for the Spring 2009 Traditional Program. Just wanted to see if anyone has heard back from the school yet. Good Luck to everyone applying!!

I just got the letter from GSU stating that I am accepted into their Spring 2009 Traditional Program. I'm still not sure what to do though...

So here's the deal, I got waitlisted at KSU for their Spring program. KSU's program is 5 consecutive semesters long (like 2 years). I got accepted into GSU's program which is 6 semesters long w/o summers (3 years long).

I wanted to ask people that attended GSU's nursing program: Can you take summer nursing classes if you were accepted as traditional? I want to shorten the years just a little bit. If I can't finish GSU's program faster, should I accept the offer and then still wait for KSU's answer? THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE ON ALLNURSES COMMUNITY!

The way that it was explained to me, if a student is accepted in GSU's traditional program, they cannot take classes in the summertime to shorten their length of time in the program due to clinical space. I did hear that students selected by nursing faculty could possibly combine the last two semesters of the program to complete it in five semesters instead of six. I hope that this helps.

A friend that is going to GA State's traditional program is taking summer classes. So I was just wondering if anyone else has done the same. Thanks for the reply!

Congrats on your acceptance.:yeah:

If you don't mind me asking, what was your gpa? Did you complete all your pre-req's before applying? I am a second degree student and trying to get any and as much info as possible before I began applying.

my overall gpa was a 3.3 or something like that. My course grades as follows: A&P1=B, A&PII=A, CHEM 1151=A, CHEM 1152=A, MATH 1111=A, MATH 1070=B, ENGL1101=A, MICROBIO=B, PSCYH 1101=B. There are more classes that i've taken but those are the ones I remember right now. My NET score was a 94. Again, I applied for the traditional program. Good luck to you!

Congratulations to you!! I hope to be accepted accepted to the GSU program either traditional or accelerated in Spring 2010.

I was wondering about the traditional program. How strenuous is the course load if it takes six semesters?
