It was a long shot but I got into georgetowns cnm/whnp program for the September 2017 cohort!
Why do I believe it was a long shot? I have a 2.86 cumulative GPA.
I have 2 years in a family medicine clinic doing primarily women's health when there working in a medical assistant capacity.
i have been a RN for just under 2 years and have only done labor and delivery.
My application was submitted on monday April 3 and went to faculty late in the day Thursday April 6. It took 15 days for me to find out I had been accepted.
What do I believe my strengths were? My letters of recommendation, my statement of purpose, and my secondary letter explaining my grades (had surgery in the middle of a semester and dropped out to enlist in the military after my husband lost his job). I stuttered through the entire interview but I felt that I answered the questions well and got my point across that midwifery for me is a calling not a paycheck.
I hope i answered any questions anyone has about the application process for nursing@georgetown! If you have anymore I'm happy to be an open book!

awesome!
I am in search for FNP school too. I wanted to start very soon.
Truth is I have already been accepted at South University to start in May 18 but unfortunately, ouR State Board restricted the university online program in our state, just before I started.

Congrats on your acceptance. I also applied to GU for the NM/WHNP July 17 date. I had my video interview last night and swear I could just die afterwards . I was so nervous, I barely introduced myself properly. I think I screwed myself up because of that.
You aren't the first person I've heard say that! I think they take nerves into consideration! I stuttered through the entire interview until I got to the last question. Then for 3 weeks I went back through the questions in my head and was like oh I should have added this or talked about this... my interview wasn't perfect by any means that's for certain!

Congratulations, your post gives me some hope! I applied to Georgetowns FNP July 2017 cohort and like the previous poster I feel like blew my live interview, smh!
Still waiting to hear back if I was accepted or not. My admissions counselor informed me they were still waiting on one more of my transcripts. So, hopefully I will find out soon.
Good luck with your program!
That's what my admissions counselor said about the interview so that made me feel a little better about it. The application coordinator requested for my DD-214 and not sure why as I haven't heard back from counselor as yet. Did they request for your DD-214 during the application process?
I'm still AD so I don't have a DD214, its necessary for the yellow ribbon program so maybe that's why they need it.
Callthenavynurse15, I saw your PM but I don't have enough posts yet to be official lol. I received a call saying that it went for review today and could take 2-4 weeks. I'm hoping it don't take that long because just knowing this now its killing me to wait lol.

Hey everyone. I'm applying to Georgetown currently and haven't gotten to the interview section yet. Any tips? What was it like? Do they ask you clinical questions?
