It was a long shot but I got into georgetowns cnm/whnp program for the September 2017 cohort!
Why do I believe it was a long shot? I have a 2.86 cumulative GPA.
I have 2 years in a family medicine clinic doing primarily women's health when there working in a medical assistant capacity.
i have been a RN for just under 2 years and have only done labor and delivery.
My application was submitted on monday April 3 and went to faculty late in the day Thursday April 6. It took 15 days for me to find out I had been accepted.
What do I believe my strengths were? My letters of recommendation, my statement of purpose, and my secondary letter explaining my grades (had surgery in the middle of a semester and dropped out to enlist in the military after my husband lost his job). I stuttered through the entire interview but I felt that I answered the questions well and got my point across that midwifery for me is a calling not a paycheck.
I hope i answered any questions anyone has about the application process for nursing@georgetown! If you have anymore I'm happy to be an open book!
