General Surgery

I have accepted a job in general surgery, as the CVOR was not my place. I am wondering, for the future, how does one become a OR Trauma Nurse at a Level 1 Trauma Center?

It truly depends on the facility. For example, some of the hospitals in the nearest major city see enough traumas come to the OR they have a dedicated trauma team that staffs those rooms. The two hospitals I've worked at (both level 1), did not see enough traumas come to the OR to justify having a dedicated team. Instead, everyone received trauma education and is expected to be able to staff a trauma if one comes up.
