Hi everyone! Okay so I'm currently finishing up my Pre-Reqs at Sinclair that I need before I can apply for the nursing program. I take my TEAS test here soon, and I'm very nervous for that. After I pass that, hopefully I won't have to wait too long to make it into the nursing program because I went to CTC for the allied health program, so students that completed that program are supposed to jump ahead in the line. I guess what I'm really posting about is tips for the TEAS test, and is the nursing program really as tough as everyone says it is? I know it's going to be hard, but does it really keep you from doing other things such as spending time with family/friends/boyfriend ect.? I've heard you don't have a life during the program, which I'm hoping isn't true! Thanks in advance for all the advice!

Some schools are tough, some not so much. Typically a better education is one that you work for, not skate through. How hard it is to you? No idea, much depends on what kind of student you are in general, and your aptitude for the material. No one can know this but you.
You sound rather young, so I'm going with that. In order to be successful in school you will need to be able to prioritize work/study/social life. Sometimes it's one thing that takes priority, sometimes another. If you are spending all your time on studying, then I'd suggest you aren't doing something right: if you have no social life, something is wrong. People don't go to nursing school exclusive of any other relationship! Students have families, and spouses, and children, and parents. Students have friends and significant others and dates.
Figure out how to get done what needs to be done....and there you go :)
As for the TEAS---someone will have to help you out on that, and it's likely someone will come along soon.
Good luck!
Thank you for your advice!!

As far as the TEAS goes...get the ATI TEAS test prep book and read and learn it front to back. It covers most everything that will be on your test.
I also got the McGraw test prep book and it helped reinforce ideas and also included some life science that wasn't included in the ATI book. Allow yourself several weeks to study and practice the material. Most schools will allow you to take it twice, so unless you get an excellent score the first time around, I would suggest taking it again to try and better your score.
ATI also has practice tests on their website that you can purchase. I would take one of these prior to taking the exam so you can gauge where you are at.
Good luck..feel free to let me know if you have any more questions.
Thank you!
