Full time Days RN Program that starts in the Spring ?

Anyone???

Why not take summer classes so you could be done with pre-reqs in fall 2011? You could then apply for fall 2012 fulltime days at suffolk. I did a&p1 last summer and a&p2 last fall, if I hadn't taken that summer class I wouldn't have been able to apply for the fall 2011 start.

I don't know if either of these schools have fulltime days that start in spring, but you can try looking into nassau community and farmingdale state, both have ADN programs.

I actually am taking summer classes -- I need to take another Math class before I can take Chem or either of the A&P classes! Very frustrating! Farmindgale only has a fall start but I did not call Nassau yet -- I will look into it. Thanks :)

So I'm at Suffolk for 2 years just to be able to get into a 2 year program there due to the pre-req thing.

I know you said ADN program, but I know Molloy (BSN) lets you start in the spring, if you are interested in that at all. Good Luck!

I'm sorry to hear you had to through this too but but am I happy I'm not alone! It is exactly as you said -- prereqs for prereqs and slows the whole process down immensely. I still have to call Nassau and get the the scoop from them on whether they have a Spring start -- it's doubtful. I will also call Molloy -- a BSN is my end goal so I guess it is worth looking into. I will give them a call as well and find out what they need for prereqs into their BSN program -- if the timeline works and I can feasibly fit it all in before the cut-off date I will do it! Still waiting for a letter from Suffolk, hoping this week or next week I will hear. I plan on getting my BSN as well, only applied to Stony Brook and Suffolk though, and once rejected from Stony Brook, my only other route at the moment is Suffolk. I plan to go to Suffolk and as soon as I'm done, get a job and start at Stony Brook to finish up for my BSN.

I did look into Molloy, but I have a child and the commute/private daycare/expense of private school was too much, so I decided against it. Molloy doesn't have pre-reqs, you can be accepted into their nursing program at any point, but before clinicals (the actual nursing portion) can start certain classes need to be taken with certain grades. Look into it, if private school is feasible for you, it's not overly competitive and it has a very large nursing program.

Sorry to hear about SBU... Suffolk is also a very well respected school though. I looked into Molloy online today but did not have a chance to call them. I will give them a ring tomorrow. I just got my acceptance letter for Suffolk's Day program, but the problem is that I applied to the Evening program. I work FT during the day, so the day program is impossible for me to complete. Anyone else in this same boat. I don't know what (if anything) can be done, and I have to wait until Monday to call. It's killing me to have to wait because I want an answer so badly now. I want to tell everyone that I got accepted, but I'm afraid to just in case they don't have an opening in the Evening program.

CUNY LaGUardia in Long island City Queens, NY has FT Day RN program they have spring and fall start days. If your goal is to start in spring apply asap, they have walk in admissions for general students. This gives you fall semester to do any prereqs you need to do and apply for candidacy for spring. At semester 3 and 4 you have an option to switch to evening class if you wish. Me i 'm a day student
