Ado I hope your toe is better now

Dianah I think I have heard Rick Sparks before, probably on the folk program our local classical station does

Tweety I'm glad they do listen when you complain

Stars I'm sure the moving experience will also be a learning experience. It can be very interesting to go through stuff that has sat there for years

Yesterday was pretty good at work, nothing unexpected, no meetings or new cases, just the side project to work on. Was definitely a quieter day than yesterday. After work stopped by the store and credit union and exercised

The knee continues to do better, although still a slight bit of pain and stiffness at times. Not quite sure how it happened, just started noticing it last Sunday. Did pretty good last night on the exercise bike, at reduced resistance and speed.

Today have off work. Thankfully the rain will hold off, so I'll go bird watching in the morning. Will avoid any hilly trails until the knee is better. Not much else planned, will do some baking, will make 2 small cakes, one spice the other chocolate. Will frost them tomorrow.

Will be cooler today, relatively speaking, as the extreme heat alert is over. Still will get up to about 90, with rain and storms this afternoon and evening

Good morning!

Joe, glad the knee is better. Hope you have a good day.

I sometimes out of the blue get aches and pains like knee or like last year when my hip joint was really bothering me. Right now it's my left hand which is better but I think from holding my phone a lot and using my left hand on my computer mouse. Always something.

I'm off one day and work three with Monday being an overtime shift. Bleh. Going to just to try to keep my act together and practice what I preach by doing one thing at time. I've already made the bed with new sheets and the sheets are in the laundry, and I've mopped my Florida room. Going to meal prep so I can eat health for a couple of days other than tomorrow the 4th.

We're having a 4th of July potluck and I ordered a chicken wing platter and demanded no coworkers bring chicken. Last year I signed up for the same platter on someone else had the nerve to bring chicken wings as well. LOL

I was a bit stunned at my paycheck today as it was probably the largest two-week paycheck in my life. I worked 25 hours of overtime and got $800 in bonus money for picking up the two shifts. I spent it on my car insurance and Amazon Prime bills which are coming in. The good news is the money I set aside for the car insurance can say out of site in my online savings account and make some interest until the next cycle and my Amazon Prime credit is down to zero. I know many people struggle and while no one can say I didn't earn it and it didn't come at a physical and emotional cost, I'm very thankful for the blessing of work.

I'm doing an okay job staying off of my social media. I have watched a couple of YouTubers I follow but haven't doom scrolled, but spent that time reading (and falling asleep with book in hand and lights on).

Have a great day!

Okay, it is 11 AM and we are approaching the worst temp and humidity of the day. I DID do a lot more box toting after I got off line last night. Still more to go, but not QUITE as much and I hope to be able to just walk away from more of what else I might encounter today. My meds have finally kicked in, so I am "good" to go now. 🙄

There is a good number of boxed and labeled items ready to be loaded into the POD, but not during the temps today. I think we are at 101 degrees and the humidity could be cut with a knife. Even Tinker did not dash, yank or pull me around on our walks today because it is so UGH outside! So there is organized confusion and a big mess otherwise. I also have set aside what is to go in the car on Wednesday night so we can leave mid-morning on Thursday, after the morning rush hour,

The mess doesn't concern me as SiL and BiL are going to come over and take Nannie's good furniture out to sell, and scrap the rest. BiL has a friend who rents out big 'ol trash containers and he is going to lend it to him no charge, and will take it all away. Goodbye, my stuff!

So I still have a few things to take care of in a desultory manner 😉 Like gathering donations and the like, which I can take to the thrift shop on Tuesday. Guess I'll get up from here and wander around the house to see if I forgot anything and then "Pfftt, I'll be gone" > well, not until Thursday AM, but that last thing was to be a take-off on the Hee-Haw song: "I searched the world over, 'til I thought I found true love; Then you found another, and ppfftt, you were gone."

Stars, sounds like things are coming together for the big move and you have a plan set in motion. I remember Hee Haw. Doubtful Gen Z would put up with such stereotypes about country folk these days. My parents loved and we watched it as a family when I was a kid. My Bavarian mother loves country music as does my Texas raised father.

Saturday is Day 1 of 3 in a row which I hate. But we're having a pot luck. I showed up at the wrong store to get my chicken wings but when I went to the other store they had them ready. I have two Publix grocery stores within two minutes of each other because they bought out the one close to me. EVERYONE was out and traffic was bad and the store crowded at lunch hour.
