Freaking out about pre-reqs

Hello,

I am completing my prerequisites for the nursing program at Pasadena City College in Pasadena, CA. Right now, I am enrolled in microbiology.

I'm really, really freaking out about my classes.

Why? Because I'm struggling very hard and am barely passing my exams, even after seeking tutoring. I was the same way in chemistry, and actually had to take it twice before passing with a "B," which I had to hang on to by the skin of my teeth. I've failed anatomy and need to retake it.

I have never had so much trouble with classes as I have had with my nursing pre-reqs (I graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA!).

I'm wondering, if I'm having so much trouble with these courses now, will I have any hope of doing well if I were to be admitted to PCC's, or any, nursing program?

Just keep working and studying hard.

Only once you are in the program will you truly know how well you will do.

Worry about that a bit later and focus on the classes you have now.

P.S.

Make an appointment with an academic counselor ASAP. The counselor is the one who can truly help you.

Cheers

I just started taking my pre reqs, i got a high C in Micro and I feel like that is going to tarnish my application to the school of my dreams, however i am taking. Anatomy and Physio 1 now and i must say its more interesting and i have a B now, hoping to bring it up to an A, but it is hard work! I eat sleep and live it. science is hard for me to grasp, but i am doing my best, which means making sacrifices. Go see a tutor, buy flashcards, ask yourself, am i really giving it my all? It can be overwhelming, but prepare in advance for exams... Etc. I wish you nothing but success!
