So my manager has been asking and asking me to join practice committee at the hospital. It involves quite a bit of work (which we do get paid for) outside of our normal 40-hour work week. I'd rather not.
"Sorry, I really can't. The terms of my monitoring contract state that I can only work 40 hours in a week and that I need to okay any more hours with the program director."

I have to say, the only positive thing in my contract was the 40 hours/week restriction! However, as soon as my boss asked my case manager to allow 48 hours instead, she went ahead and changed it without even speaking to me about it first! Arrgghh!
