If you took a course or a prep course that did NOT offer BLS, where did you go to take it? I am looking around and am having a hard time, a lot look like scams? I know a lot of places you get hired at can train you, but a lot of the jobs I have been seeing have it has a requirement to be hired. TIA!

There are a couple of places that I have found in the Orlando area and then one in Leesburg. Now most do not offer BLS or CPR class but some do for additional $40.00. Now I know some areas you can go to take a CPR class at the local tech schools. I know one prep course offers CPR for a additional $40.00 and it right there at the same place you take the prep class. Have you taken the prep course yet?
No-I start them in November in Winter Haven. That is an hour drive way for me, but what can you do. Anyway, this class doesn't over BLS certification yet. I would like to find one closer to the actual Orlando Metro area or North Orlando.
I found one near Conroy near Windemere it is a CNA Prep Course and then she now offers CPR and additional courses I believe for a extra $40. Would this be close enough for you? I can give you the info. She seems very nice and she offers day, night & weekend classes. I haven't signed up yet I have talked to her a couple of times. The only thing is when you get ready to take the test to become certified they don't come to her office you would have to go to a testing site but still would be in the Orlando area. The cost of her prep course is $300.00 and you can pay all of it at once or break it up $150.00 at a time. Then an additional $40 for the CPR & BLS.

You might want to look on the red cross also. I looked on there a few weeks ago and I believe they offer a cpr for professional rescuers here in central Florida. I actually have to sign up soon also because I just finished my prep course yesterday

Check with Red Cross and your local fire departments, hospitals, etc. Many offer them for very low fees. Make sure you specify BLS for healthcare providers, not just standard CPR -- the BLS course includes more comprehensive information.
You can also check the American Heart Association website for providers near you.
Thanks, I will do that.

There is a company that teaches CPR every day of the week in the Orlando area. They are very convenient, give a 2 year certification, and work with you in very small groups (I was the only student) so that they can get you in and out quickly. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to do my BLS class for health professionals. Orlando CPR Class
That is awesome info Lisa7594..... I actually wanted to sign up for one this week so I think I'll look in to that. Thanks!
