Follow up

Today was the day I thought I'd be hearing about moving forward into an Acute position with Davita but the hiring manager has not contacted me and I tried to follow up with the recruiter but her phone went to voicemail and she hasn't called back or replied to the email that I sent. I guess it is back to putting in hundreds of applications hoping to get another interview somewhere...this was the first interview I've gotten in over 200 applications :( It's either that or I work on finding a second PT non nursing job to make ends meet and forgo this whole process...I'm quickly getting to the point where I can't afford to keep looking for work as an RN. Has anyone else experienced Davita or another company saying they will call on a certain date and then not hear anything from them. It doesn't seem like good business to me. Even if the HM rejected me she still should call...or should I just wait until next week sometime to hear from someone?

    I wouldn't give up that easily. Fridays are sometimes hit or miss as people are trying to wrap things up for the weekend. I would try to contact both of them again on Monday. You have nothing to lose, and chances are they will be happy to hear from you. Acute dialysis has its perks, like running only 1-2 patients at a time, but it is hard to keep acute nurses because of the long hours and on call requirement.

    Believe in yourself and what you have to offer the company and call them on Monday.

    Thanks for the reply. I'll try them again on Monday and hope I get to move forward. I'm not scared of the hours, in fact the OT will be very handy for awhile as I have about 70K in debt that I would like to make a dent in so that eventually I can go back to school for my BSN and possibly for DNP if I can find a grad school to let me in with my previously poor GPA (Bachelors in non nursing that I only had a 2.5 GPA for). My ADN helped as I graduated with a 3.3...anyway I guess I will update again after the weekend and maybe feel better about this whole process.
