Florida Accelerated Nursing Programs

Hi everyone! :)

I wanted to start a new thread to talk about stats and entry level information. I am currently a senior at FSU getting my bachelors in Biology. I plan to graduate summer 2012 and want to apply to an ABSN program in florida for the 2013 year.I currently have a 3.77 GPA overall and a 4.0 in nursing pre-reqs. I want some advice on schools because my boyfriend of 4 years is getting accepted into medical schools all around Florida and we would like to try to stay in the same area. We want to figure out the best places for me before he commits to a school.

I see a lot of people apply with bachelors and masters degrees and have been working for a while, does that help them more in getting in? I have worked for 6 years straight now, but only part time because I am in school. I'm 21 and have no masters or alternative degree. It worries me to see most people have a lot more than me.

I really like FSU and would like to stay there, but i know they are extremely competitive. Students with the same stats as me and were denied acceptance and I was told they strictly look at grades. I talked to a lady at UM and she said the average GPA was a 3.3 but that just seems so low for such a high ranked school. Can someone give me some stats on what they have and/or what they got accepted with?

UM? FSU? Miami Dade?

Thank you!!
