Congrats on graduating! Starting as a full-time resource nurse is a great way to build experience. Regarding your question—I think it depends on the type of facility you work in and how they decide what FTE each employee is. May be worth discussing this with your direct supervisor, just to get their thoughts.
That said, if you're already thinking about returning to school to move away from bedside work, you're definitely not alone. Your supervisor has likely worked with staff going back to school, such as yourself, before. If you're currently an LPN, I'd recommend looking into St. Ambrose University's online LPN-to-BSN or RN-to-BSN program.

Hi all! just needed some advice I just got a new job as a resource nurse FT and I am wondering what is an appropriate time to request to switch to PT? My probation is 3 months but honestly I'm thinking about going back to school to move away from bedside but I would still like to work part time? any suggestions or advice please help me out :)) thanks
