a first for everything

Hi everyone!

Another busy, interesting day at the hospital! :D

First clinical for first sem,did not get to do any RN duties whatsover! My instructor was really really LAZY! Anyways, this sem for med surg clinical,I have an awesome instructor! She arranged everything for the day so each student was assigned to a nurse! I got to pass meds and changed wound care dressings under the supervision of my instructor!two first times for me :nurse::redbeathe From doing my careplan( which took forever),looking at the MAR,using the pyxis machine(which amazed me by the way )LOL! i had to tell my pt what each of the medication was for.OMG im so relieved I actually read my drug guide book because my instructor asked me what amlodipine was for, what was the classification and what it does.lol :idea:then after that,i made beds and got to see my pt with his fasciotomy, skin graft.! i changed my pt's wound dressing and applied topical antibiotics on his feet and left thigh!lso got to see a colostomy bag change.met RN's and a very nice CNA!LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT WEEK'S CLINICAL=)ohh yeaaaaah!:lol2:

Sounds like you had a great day!! It's nice to see the enthusiasm, I used to get really excited everytime I saw something new too. Anyways, do as much as they will let you and soak it up. You'll be using it all in practice before ya know it! :) Have fun next week.

Yippee! Hooray! Wait until a few weeks until you realize what it's "really" like out there! Oh joy!
