finding a job...??

Hoping someone will be able to help me on this one...

Okay, I graduated with an ADN last January, took the NCLEX in June, and now I can't find a job. The only jobs out there are for RNs with BSNs, or RNs with ADNs with at least 1 year of experience. My question is this: how does an RN with an ADN gain that experience? It seems like no one wants to hire a new grad RN. I have two kids, and want to get some experience before going back to school again. I'm getting discouraged because no one wants a new grad in NYC.

Would really really appreciate any advice anyone has to offer :nurse:

We are all in the same boat BSN nurses alike.. Try , try , try and try again. Don't back down. Volunteer at a hospital to show your face and if someone asks proudly and politely say, I'm an RN!.. and I would love to work here that's why I volunteer! :)

That's my plan!! :)

I'm in the same boat. I graduated in May and passed my boards in August, been looking for a job since before I graduated. I am now looking into getting my BSN but would like to work while in school. Good luck!

A job posting may say BSN preferred, or experience preferred, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't apply! Every job posting at my hospital says BSN preferred but they still hire ADNs too. Good luck!
