Favorite nursing work?

I thought I would just see what everyone likes doing. Do you like your job now? Love it? Are you just doing it for the benefits or do you really like? I think I might be guilty of not liking my psych job. I don't mind the schedule and the bennies though. I'm afraid I may not like staying in one place long, or is it I would like to see a little more appreciation for my efforts. The mental stress is overwhelming sometimes. Anyway , thought I would see what others enjoy as far as nursing goes.:specs:

I'm in Med-Surg, first job. I like parts of it, for sure: always busy (sometimes too busy for the pt's good), juggling, interesting med. problems. But i don't want to keep up this pace for my career. I think i will try OR or ER next, after i get my year in.

Sooo..., is it a rule that you need a year of Med-Surg before you go to other areas? I have worked most of my time, both as an LPN and an RN in psych. I have worked the nursing homes and some peds. Mostly psych though. I have often thought I would like OR. Alot of time on your feet though, standing in one place for extended periods.

Hi Ed,

I love med/surg nursing. Yes, I know I need serious help but I do. I like peds too.

Psych is O.K. I hate home health. Not the patients, just the load of forms and fighting with the company to get patients what they really need.
