Fall 2010 Class schedules

I was accepted to Phoenix College, and was browsing through their catalog for fall 2010.. I see the nursing shedule.. says We 8-1:30 for lecture, and labs are mon and Tues.. this is a hybrid class.. how often are you really going to class 3 times a week?? I am planning on keeping my low stress, easy good paying full time job.. however starting to wonder if that is going to be possible! Anyone that has done a hybrid any insight would be greatly appreciated! I am so excited! Also, anyone previously accepted ( spring 2010 ) if you have a book list, it would be wonderful as I am a cheap-o and will not pay full price for the books and want to start hunting them down on craigslist and so on :) Thanks!!

You really do need to be prepared to rearrange your life to accommodate your school schedule. And, the schedule will undoubtedly be completely different for each semester/block. I am sure the clinical schedules for Fall 2010 are not even close to being finalized yet. The clinical sites dictate when students will be allowed to do their clinical experiences. The rest of the schedule, lecture and lab, must be worked around the clinical schedule. Even if you had a preliminary schedule now, it could easily change by the time you start school.

In general, plan on one day for lecture. You will probably be grouped to attend one or the other of the scheduled lab days, so plan on one day for lab. And, plan on at least one additional day for clinical. However, if you are lucky, you may have lab and clinical on alternating weeks. You cannot dictate or choose…you take what you get, or you withdraw from the program.
